“This is my 3rd stay at the Abbey and I’m so grateful to God for this place. Thank you for giving me ‘free reign’ and letting me explore and find a quiet space to be with the Lord. I am refreshed. My soul needed this. Thank you for peace! I will be back!”

"Attending this women's healing retreat at Abbey of the Hills was one of the most deeply restorative experiences of my life. I’m in my 60s, and I attended alongside a dear friend in her 50s and another in her 70s. At our ages, you sometimes wonder if something like this is really for you — if healing and transformation are still possible, or if it’s “too late” for breakthroughs. But I can say with complete sincerity: this retreat was exactly what we needed.

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere of peace and sacredness embraced us. The sanctuary itself — with its serene grounds, historic architecture, and quiet corners for reflection — was like a balm for the soul. Every detail seemed designed to support rest, healing, and connection — both with yourself and others.

The facilitators created such a safe, supportive space that allowed each of us to open up in our own time and way. There was no pressure, only gentle guidance and deep wisdom. We laughed, we cried, we shared stories and silences, and in the process, each of us came away lighter, clearer, and more whole.

This retreat reminded me — reminded all of us — that no matter your age, your heart is always capable of healing. It’s never too late to reconnect with your spirit, release what no longer serves you, and step into the next season of life with grace and strength.

If you are considering this retreat, I encourage you with all my heart: go. Give yourself the gift of this experience. You are not too old, too tired, or too late. You are right on time."

“From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!! I very much needed some time to quiet my soul and wasn’t very successful on my own. When my friend invited me to come with her to the Abbey for the 12 step retreat, I had to say no, because I couldn’t afford it. She told me “not to worry because the Abbey and their friends could help me. Thank you Abbey and friends I have not met.” My heart is full and my soul has found some peace.”
