Welcome to The Abbey of the Hills

Did you know?.......

Pope Paul VI at the end of the Second Vatican Council declared Mary the "Mother of the Church".  This new title coincided with the construction of the abbey church of Blue Cloud Abbey, Now the Abbey of the Hills.  The image of Mary on the facade of the abbey church portrays her new title:  "Mother of the Church"

Mary's arms upraised in prayer are interceding for all the members of the church, living stones, represented by the multitude of individual pieces of difference colored stone.

Rays of light from above symbolize the animating power of the Holy Spirit in Mary and all the members of the Church.
