Day of Recollection
Speaker:  Fr. Timothy J. Smith
Pastor Holy Cross Catholic Church, Ipswich

"The Infancy Narratives:  Advent Meditations with the Writings of Pope Benedict XVI"

Gather at the Abbey of the Hills for a Day of Recollection with Father Timothy Smith for Advent Meditations in preparation of Christmas. The focus of the day will be the bestselling writings of Pope Benedict XVI.

The root of these meditations is the experience of hope found in the birth of Jesus and the affirmations of surrender and service embodied in his parents, Joseph and Mary. This is a story of longing and seeking, as demonstrated by the Magi searching for the redemption offered by the birth of a new king.  This advent day of recollection will include two conferences, time for Lectio Divina with the Christmas readings, Mass & Confessions. This is a great way to prepare for the Christmas Season and experience the depths of the Sacred Scriptures.

The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 3:00p.m. This day long retreat will consist of two conferences and Mass as well as built in time for adoration and an opportunity for the sacrament of Reconciliation. Lunch is provided.

The Abbey of the Hills is sustained in large part by the donations of the retreatants. For those who can give, your donation will help “pay the gift of peace” forward to help those with limited means.

Registration is required for meal planning purposes.
