With our variety of spaces and 100,000 sq. foot building, we welcome you to connect with us and see if space is available — even if you see an event posted below listed on your desired date. Please note our cancellation policy: Any retreat guest reservations/registrations cancelled within one week of the event are subject to a $25 cancellation fee in order to cover any costs associated with food orders. Should a guest decide to leave during an event, or an organization cancels an event within 2 weeks of event date or cuts the event short due to illness, there will not be any refunds issued.

Join Deacon Rick Christiansen, permanent deacon in the Diocese of New Ulm and serve at the Cathedral. 

"The Rule of St. Benedict and the 12 Steps of Humility"

Gather at the Abbey of the Hills for a Day of Recollection with Deacon Rick Christiansen.   Fifteen hundred years ago, St. Benedict wrote The Rule which is followed by monasteries all over the world.  The chapter on Humility contains his twelve steps, called the “Ladder of Humility,” containing highly-effective, self-help rules for growing in holiness.

Join Fr. Michael Peterson, former monk of Blue Cloud Abbey 1996-2012 and is now a monk at St. John's Abbey, Minnesota

"Listening According to St. Benedict"

In this presentation, Fr. Michael will share some wisdom for the Rule of Saint Benedict, tell some stories and offer practical advice of how to become a better listener.  During the day, he will also play songs from the Native American flute.

Celebrate Valentine's Day with reflection and prayers at the Abbey of the Hills. 

Couples may receive a blessing of their marriage followed by a romantic candlelight dinner of your choice.  This is an ecumenical event welcoming couples of all faiths. 

 

PRAYER TIME:  6 p.m.

SOCIAL: 6:15 p.m.
SUPPER:  6:45 p.m.

$75 per couple

$125 per couple with overnight room and complimentary breakfast

Men's Lenten Retreat
"Forgiveness and Healing Through the Holy Eucharist"

Men of all ages/faiths are invited to the Abbey of the Hills for a Men’s Retreat, celebrating Lent and the forgiveness and healing found through the Holy Eucharist.  The weekend includes opportunities for rest, fellowship, Eucharist, Reconciliation and Adoration along with small groups and plenty of quiet time. 

  • “For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”  So they said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.”  John 6: 33-34

  • “Do you realize that Jesus is there in the tabernacle expressly for you – for you alone?He burns with the desire to come into your heart…don’t listen to the demon, laugh at him,and go without fear to receive the Jesus of peace and love.”

Begins:  Friday, February 24 - Supper at 6 pm

Concludes: Sunday, February 26 with Lunch

Cost:   Freewill offering retreat with non-refundable $25 deposit to reserve your place.No one will be turned away for inability to pay.

Women's Lenten Retreat

"I Thirst.....I stand at the door of your heart.  Will you open to me?"

 

From the cross, Jesus uttered the words, “I Thirst.”  He stands at the door of our hearts night and day longing to transform our lives, bring us his peace and to calm our souls.  Join us at the Abbey of the Hills for a Catholic Women’s Lenten Retreat.  Will you accept His invitation to open your heart and grow closer to Him?  The weekend will have a special focus on encountering Jesus in the Eucharist and will include small group experiences, Eucharistic Adoration and the opportunity for healing prayer as we grow in the realization that Christ thirsts for us!

 

  •   Friday, March 3 – 7 p.m.    (light soup supper will be available)

  •   Sunday, March 5 with Lunch

Day of Recollection

 

Join Wade Van Dover, husband and father with experience teaching and catechizing youth, participation in leadership retreats, 10+ years of men's faith groups and various speaking engagements.

The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 3:00p.m. This day long retreat will consist of two conferences and Mass as well as built in time for adoration and an opportunity for the sacrament of Reconciliation. Lunch is provided.

Women's Silent Ignatian Retreat

"Introduction to Ignatian Prayer/Learning to Follow God's Divine Will"

 

Join Fr. Peter Anderl, pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ligerwood for this silent retreat for Women.

 

This Silent Ignatian Retreat offers a chance to come away with the Lord! You will leave behind the distractions and noise of the world and encounter Him and His great love, message and purpose for you in a deep and richly fulfilling way - that can then be taken home with you and lived each day.

This Retreat is a focused encounter with God that centers on the quality of my personal response to God’s self-revelation in prayer and reflection.

A Weekend of Silence Women's Retreat

 

To Seek our Shepherd and Hear His Voice, To Rest in His Love, And Rejoice in His Glory!

 

This is a non-denominational women's silent retreat.  All faiths are welcome. 

Registration includes all meals, snacks and lodging. 

COST:

  • $230 per person single occupancy (room by yourself)

  • $190 per person double occupancy (room with a roommate and 2 beds)

First meeting starts Friday April 28 4:30 p.m.

Concludes: Sunday, April 30 - 2 p.m.
