Adopt-A-Room

“Everything but a mint on the pillow.”

In 2013, The Abbey of The Hills began a transition from a place made holy by Benedictine monks, to a new definition of holiness by a group of faithful lay people, committed oblates, and many volunteers. The new stewards are committed to maintenance of the holy traditions, and the property. Through the generosity of patrons, the Adopt-A-Room program will transform and modernize rooms to ensure that visitors have a warm and welcoming place to lay their heads.

How the program works.

Adopting sponsors provide the labor and materials for the makeover, and may either choose or be assigned one of 50 rooms that need updating. There are various sizes of bedrooms available, including rooms with adjoining baths, sitting areas and patios. There are also larger rooms available like a kid's rec area, libraries and several classrooms and meeting rooms. Once completed, these rooms can be dedicated in honor of a loved one, a family, a friendship or another tribute of the patron’s choosing.

Need some inspiration?
  • Design a room based upon an occupation the monks had while living at The Abbey.

  • Does your family have a story or tie to The Abbey? Create a room in memory!

  • Have a group of friends wanting to do a service project?
